Building Fund

NCFA headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia play a central role in enabling us to champion the cause of adoption. Whether we are meeting with domestic and international adoption officials or conducting adoption liaison training seminars on site, our offices see a tremendous amount of activity every day.

But our building is in desperate need of repair. Temperature changes and insufficient installation have caused portions of our concrete window sills to break and fall onto the ground around our building.  A moisture issue in our basement requires inspection and repair in order to avoid a mold hazard to our employees, volunteers and interns.  Our front concrete steps are crumbling and the flooring outside our elevator is breaking apart in large sections.  Light fixtures need to be reballasted, ductwork needs cleaning, and electrical wiring must be updated.

After weeks of careful inspection and consultations with several subcontractors and building experts, we learned that it will cost $225,000 to make these necessary building repairs.
