Romania considering legislation that would severely limit intercountry adoption

According to the US State Department, draft legislation on adoptions soon may be introduced into the Romanian parliament for consideration. The bill would end most intercountry adoptions, the result which will be that Romanian children will languish in institutional care. There is currently a moratorium on adoptions from Romania, which has been in place since 2001. Click here for the State Department update.
