Mike Thorne

Chairman of the NCFA Board of Directors

Mike’s mission is to restore people’s sense of dignity to unleash their greatness. His vision is a world where people are celebrated for who they are and recognize that they are worthy of self-esteem simply because they are here.  It is informed by his own lived experience as an adoptee.

Over the course of his career Mike worked in business development and sales roles before taking on senior leadership roles in the last 15+ years including President of Russell Athletic Team Sports and President of the Wholesale Division for Yankee Candle, and most recently CEO of Challenger Turf Inc.  He also has been a board member of the National Council for Adoption since 2013.

Mike has since left the corporate stage and began his own business that is focused on teaching leadership focused on others and their communities around them.  He created the Personal Trust Community concept that he speaks about and teaches throughout the country as a key to finding oneself and your ultimate happiness.

In 2021 he expanded his leadership impact by becoming a Vistage Chair, facilitating meetings of northern New England’s Non-Profits and small business owners who come together to solve problems, support each other, and design innovative solutions to grow their businesses and be better human beings for their employees, their families and their communities.

Mike became Chairman of the NCFA Board on May 1, 2022.
