From Chuck Johnson, NCFA president and CEO
National Council For Adoption enjoyed co-hosting the Putting Family First Conference in June with Joint Council on International Children’s Services, and we were saddened by the news that Joint Council has closed, after 40 years of dedicated service to children around the world.
Over the years, NCFA has had various opportunities to work along Joint Council on issues for which we shared a common interest. We have a great deal of respect for the staff members and Board of Directors of Joint Council, whose dedication and hard work have had an immeasurable impact on the lives of children and families around the world. Joint Council’s voice as a leader in the field of children’s services will be missed. We wish their staff all the best in their future endeavors.
NCFA is offering free Provisional Membership for the remainder of 2015 to Joint Council’s 2015 Partners. In 2016, Provisional Members that meet NCFA’s membership standards are encouraged to apply for full membership during our regularly scheduled annual renewal period. We appreciated the opportunity to meet many of Joint Council’s Partners at the conference, and we are excited to learn more about your work and introduce you to our vibrant network of NCFA members.
Please note that NCFA maintains no control over previous Joint Council resources or outreach including Joint Council’s website, social media networks, or decisions regarding their finances, sponsorships, donations, or membership dues. We have extended this offer to Joint Council Partners in the spirit of NCFA’s mission and goals to ensure adoption professionals have the resources and network to do serve children and families well. If you have questions about the co-hosted 2015 Putting Family First Conference or the provisional membership outlined above, please contact Megan Lestino at email@example.com.
