IBM, Client Unit Executive, U.S. Federal Healthcare
Ms. Jones has 25+ years experience spanning consulting services and technology-enabled change in both the public and private sectors. For the last 7 years as Client Unit Executive for IBM, Ms. Jones has been responsible for driving client value and growth spanning the Federal Healthcare space - e.g., U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), U.S. Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the U.S. Social Security Administration (SSA). This role includes leading a large, cross-brand team working directly with clients and also partnering across the Federal Systems Integrator and Business Partner ecosystem focused on supporting our clients’ Health and Social Services missions. Ms. Jones is also responsible for development and implementation of IBM’s Federal Healthcare growth strategy, with a focus on tripling IBM’s presence (to $1B+/year).
Ms. Jones was also honored with responsibility for the 2014 Employee Charitable Contribution Campaign for IBM Federal, leading a team of leaders and canvassers to increasing average contribution 7.5% year to year. Ms. Jones was also honored with the role of IBM Federal Civilian/Healthcare Team Lead for the 2014 Greater DC American Heart Walk, and led the team to the #1 rank among IBM fundraising teams.
Ms. Jones formerly held progressive leadership roles at IBM, with responsibility for driving client value and growth across a number of additional Public Sector clients (e.g., U.S. Office of Personnel Management, U.S. General Services Administration and the University of North Carolina System).
Prior to her tenure with IBM, Ms. Jones enabled Ernst & Young LLP’s (E&Y) transformation into a world class eCommerce services business, creating new sources of revenue through monetary and manpower investments in eCommerce ventures, and helped develop and grow E&Y’s Intangible Property services business. Ms. Jones also led development and implementation of an enterprise eCommerce strategy for the Student Loan Marketing Corporation (Sallie Mae), pioneering online loan applications and customer service during the infancy of the World Wide Web. Prior to her role as Senior Director of eCommerce, Ms. Jones directed Sallie Mae’s Healthcare Education Loan Product Management efforts, with a focus on driving customer satisfaction and capturing share, and led service quality efforts to improve customer satisfaction spanning Sallie Mae’s bank, university and consumer customers. Ms. Jones also previously directed Service Quality-focused efforts with other leading financial institutions (e.g., Bank of America, American General Corporation).
Ms. Jones was asked to Chair the Federal Civilian day of the 50th annual TechAmerica Foundation Vision Conference in 2014, after having previously served as Vice Chair, as well as on the leadership teams on the HHS, VA and DHA TechAmerica Vision teams for several years running. Ms. Jones has also served on the TechAmerica Foundation Strategic Forecast Council since 2013. Ms. Jones’ contributions to the TechAmerica Foundation were recognized with an Outstanding Achievement Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Ms. Jones holds a Master of Social Administration degree in Information Systems Design, and Bachelors Degree in Social Work, both from the University of Maryland system. She resides in Arlington, VA with her two beautiful children, which she was very fortunate to adopt from China as babies. Ms. Jones was honored to have been elected to the Board of the National Council for Adoption in 2015.
